Timing
I know a lot of munchkin comes down to timing, but my question is this:
Is “before you do (x), I’m gonna do (y)” allowed? I’ve had one game where I was playing, and I kicked down the door and met (L3?) Tequila Mockingbird. It was early game and a different player through in a wandering monster Plutonium Dragon for fun. I decided I was going to charm the plutonium dragon and fight the mockingbird, but when I declared I was going to charm the dragon, the player to my left decided to annihilate my wizard class. So, Was the plutonium dragon charmed and I just no longer have my wizard class, or is he able to annihilate it in response to my declaration stopping my action? |

Re: Timing
If you had already discarded your hand, the charm happened. If you hadn't yet discarded and he whipped out Annihilation, your Wizard class is gone.
That's the official rules. Unofficially, if your group wants to take a more casual, "I said it so it happens" approach, I think that probably makes for a friendlier game -- but you need to talk it over with them.
