My understanding of the contest is that it is for new card ideas, so I don't think my idea for new links qualifies. However, if I could get some more official input on this topic, that would be great.

I'm under the impression that my link idea would be considered 'other assorted correspondence' from my reading of the contest rules and submission page.

The contest is for Munchkin cards, not Munchkin Quest cards (or links, or rooms). We will not be judging MQ entries.

i think munchkins quest expansions with the other flavors like star munchkin or munchkins clthulu would be neat too like make an expansion or two for each that can also be used as its own game

That wouldn't be classified as an expansion. A new genre would have to be its own standalone game, IMO, with its own expansions. Blender games don't see as much play as everyone thinks, and I think the last thing I'd want to contemplate is Munchkin Quest in a blender. . .
