If I am not wearing armor and I get Curse! Snail Mail, does my next roll fail even if it would succeed no matter what? For instance, let's say I am an Elf, I have the Tuba of Charm and the Boots of Running Really Fast, does my roll still fail?

Yes, you automatically fail the attempt even if it would be impossible to fail it normally. You can't even sacrifice a Hireling to escape, even though that works when escape is impossible. With an automatic fail, you must lose your next Run Away attempt, no matter what.
