Nerd Perk
Yes you are a Nerd and you have a perk.
So you up against an invisible foe - you know what to do. Werewolves, Vampire and reanimated corpses - no problem Robots and psi masters - you got it covered The Illuminati - wait a minute it's only a perk! Geek Perk Yes you have heard of all that weird science stuff. Gain +1 reaction from all the young people, gullible and other lesser versed Nerds or Geeks. -1 reaction from all those who detest nerds or geeks as well as those with talents in the respected fields. Re: Nerd Perk
Moved to GURPS since it's about game mechanics, not a general discussion.

Re: Nerd Perk
Dabbler in the Occult skill is what it looks like to me.

Re: Nerd Perk
I wouldn't consider a "Nerd Perk" much more than renaming the Dabbler Perk with a focus on Hobby skills, Current Affairs (Popular Culture), CA (Science and Technology) and maybe Computer Operation.

Re: Nerd Perk
Nerd is like Hipster, a word so overused to mean nearly everything that it's become nearly useless.
I even think the terms are starting to blur together a bit as meaning obsessive fan of culturally unpopular things.

Re: Nerd Perk
Perk version of Illuminated? I like it, though "Genre Savvy" is probably a better word.

Re: Nerd Perk
Does nerd have a meaning I'm not familiar with? Because none of that sounds like what I think of as a nerd.
