Ok, the old style is ugly. Its ugly in a nostalgic and endearing sort of way, like great grandma's upholstery choices, but it is still ugly. And now that there is another style, I can't unsee it. I know on one computer I own I installed a plugin that lets me custom style the site, and then turned the entire thing various shades of grey.... I did that years ago. Might do it again. Don't remember the name of the plugin... Keep working. Something will stick!

Re: Did the forum change styles?
I went back to the default 'old' version yesterday, but today's updated 'new' look is far less harsh. It may grow on me, so maybe the old version was only liked because it was so unique in look. No one else I visited had such a scheme, so I knew right away where I was.

And thanks for that, also. I like most of the look of the new theme, and look forward to it reaching its final form.

Re: Did the forum change styles?
All right, I have dialed the default color palette back to a more monochrome one in line with the parchment look of the background. This one should be a little easier on the eyes than the pale yellow.
If you find anything particularly difficult to read as far as text contrast and such, please let me know in this thread. |

Re: Did the forum change styles?
I just went back to the old style, as that's what my eyes prefer over the current default. The current default isn't bad, but my eyes ain't what they were 30 years ago when the web was new.

Ooooh, the blue band looks good. Slowly I'm starting to like the new look as it gets dialed in.
