Allright, a few more changes for readability have been made.

No more white text, navigation bar text has been changed to black for maximum contrast. Category headers have been given underlines when they are links, now that their color matches non-linked text.

I have swapped the two text box colors so that the lighter one is on the body of the posts and on the main forum/post navigation section. These are the primary places people are doing the reading, so it should increase the contrast and ease of reading there.

Still no issues on this end. I AM hoping that this doesn't become a never-ending paint job, à la Eldin Bernecky :D

That is better for me, yes. Thanks!

I just tested it and find it nice. The background is still a bit bright for my eyes (I'm sensitive to bright light and read in a fairly dark room) but its readable.
The headings, text, and color changes from read and not read are much more noticeable and I think this is overall better.

Thank you, not just for trying to update the site and make it better but accepting feedback to help us enjoy the forum even more.

The feedback is VERY much appreciated. The original change was in response to comments that the background was too dark for legibility. So we tweaked. So we may have overcorrected. Knowing that not all [expletive deleted] monitors are not the same anyhow . . . we will keep trying, and eventually stabilize on something.

Thanks - sj

This works for me, but each incremental change has been slightly better in turn. Not sure at what point you say "finished" though.

For whatever it's worth, I still prefer the old colors to the too-bright current ones. I might just stick with the grays I came up with, though. :)

The owls are not what they seem.
The Fnords have gone back into hiding.
