Can you do a Play-by-Post of a game...Without the system?
OK, I feel I should clarify. You see, I love In Nomine on a conceptual level, but its system is, in my view, awful. Could I do an RP without having to use the system?

I don't see why not. You'd basically be freeform roleplaying, but that's certainly not against the rules.

Or you could run a game using a different system. As far as I know, there is only one company that would object to a conversion of their stuff to another system, and it ain't SJG.

You can--I certainly don't look at the rules much--but beware of railroading. I find it nice to have rulesish and a randomizer for those times when things really could go either way. Of course, my randomizer is Tarot cards often as not, so I'm not exactly The Game myself.
