Re: Combat against a Basilisk
That was surprisingly quick. You'd need a can of Basilisk·B·Gone to have ended that fight quicker.

Re: Combat against a Basilisk
A Molly with a magic ring is a ferocious, ferocious beast. Try running that scenario without the two novice wizards and see how far you get. (I cheated the setup to take the paths through the game that granted ring and apprentice, so you can try deleting Mark and the ring.)
Also I've house ruled out the Brand cheat and am considering what to do about the Light Crossbow sniper.

Re: Combat against a Basilisk
Now THAT is a tough scenario. A prize to anyone who can use a cornered basilisk to defeat 8 competent humanoids, not to mention 39-point characters, skilled crossbowmen, wizards which can undo the basilisk's freeze ability and cause their friends to then get to immediately attack, and of course, the "Brand-ed crossbow bolt" that supposedly is legal, supposedly does +2 damage, and supposedly doesn't set your crossbow on fire when it's loaded and you get frozen with it burning.

Re: Combat against a Basilisk
I made Brand an actual enchantment and not something you do by the roadside.

Re: Combat against a Basilisk
Basilisk freezes like a thrown spell. So I would allow the basilisk to freeze molly even though she is trying to hide behind her teammate. She is not in the line of sight for a missile spell, but is in line of sight for thrown spell.
Although molly is a great candidate to make the saving throw. So maybe better to freeze her aides. |
