Re: Car Wars 5e Vehicle Design
That is a reasonable assumption. The Powerball (Div. 10, Set 1) and the Roman Candle (Div. 10, Set 2) are both compacts with 1-space turrets, and there are no subcompacts with turrets. Turret size restrictions do appear to be in effect in 5e, but the weapon location restriction (CWC2, pg. 73) appears to be gone as several 5e cars break the rule.

5th Edition Amateur Night Cars
Here are some record sheets for a 5th Ed "Amateur Kart".
Four record sheets on one page makes them easy to print, cut and use at your next game. Amateur Night is great way to introduce new players to the game. I played today and acted as ref for 4 players, only 1 of whom had played before. The game was over in 45 minutes, and everyone had fun and said they would play again. Only one fatality, thanks to Sure Thing Body Armor, but that's expected with a head-on collision at 40mph with no front armor left on the car don't you agree? http://www.launchfightersgame.com/ca...teur_karts.pdf Tonight's Amateur Night at the El Con Autoduel Park is sponsored by Sure Thing Body Armor, who have generously provided a suit for each driver in tonight's field. Remember folks, next time you're at the shop, ask for a Sure Thing. Sure Thing Body Armor, because what's the point of winning the fight, if you don't survive the fight? Sure Thing Body Armor, you can count on a Sure Thing. SureThingBodyArmor not responsible for injury or loss of life due to suicidal tendencies or head-on collisions. If you are interested in CWC 2.5 errata, you might want to look at a specific document on my Web site. The file is old but it may contain some useful information.

Re: Car Wars 5e Vehicle Design
Guntruck40,
The lack of success of selling Car Wars Fifth Edition sets, and the lack of releasing the Vehicle Design System are probably the main reasons oversized vehicle rules were not added to Car Wars Fifth Edition. Your memory about 18-wheelers is correct. The Pocket Box supplement Truck Stop introduced tractor-trailers and buses to Car Wars. Ten-wheel trucks were first presented in Autoduel Quarterly. The rules for these three vehicle types were reprinted in the Deluxe Car Wars rulebook. Car Wars Compendium 2.5, the book you mentioned purchasing from e23, contains all of the oversized vehicle rules published for the older edition of Car Wars. Adapting the older edition rules of oversized vehicles to Fifth Edition probably could be done in the same fashion as cars and cycles in this discussion thread.
