When the Staff to Snake spell expires do the injuries on the snake go away?

I've got my own alternative that injures the wizard's Mana rating in exchange for faster Mana recovery.

Yes. Unless the snake dies, the staff reforms into a staff without being damaged by the experience. It can then be the subject of Staff to Snake again.
