Default Car Wars in Other Eras

Were there ever any variants rules for playing Car Wars in another era? If, for example, I wan't to imagine that autodueling was a thing in the 1920's or 30's?

Funnily enough there was a 'Blasts from the Past' article about this in a an ADQ : During Prohibition , rival Gangsters gangs built their own Armoured Cars on Truck Classis . Using steel & building materials , they turned out to be too tough for each others weapons to penetrate ! I'll see if I can find a wiki page ..

I made a thread here. I threw a couple of things on there; an alien race that flies around the galaxy looking for species that are "enlightened" (have put weapons on vehicles) to challenge to friendly duels. Also Car Wars stats for fantasy races (elves, dwarves, orcs, trolls, etc.) and rubber forehead aliens (warrior races, philosopher races, inscrutable races, etc.).

Back In The Day, maybe around 1987 or so, I was making "Cart Wars" for medieval fights with horse-drawn carts, using the Car Wars rules. I doubt I still have the notebook paper I wrote those up on, though. I turned "grenade equivalents" into "dagger equivalents" for encumbrance purposes. Edit: More recently I seem to have created Fantasy in Car Wars, an incomplete translation of the 3.5 SRD into Car Wars rules.

White Dwarf ran an article called "Sleigh Wars" which was basically Car Wars but with rival Santas.

The Xmaschete missile was my particular fave ;)

There was another thread here wherein I asked if anyone had, or knew where to find, stats for horses and other riding or draft animals. This resulted in some collaborative creative work to come up with stats.

WWI was basically Car Wars where vehicles were concerned.

Re-imagine WWI. Governments break down, the war become localized as old European city-states re-emerge. Local gangsters extract heavy tolls from local communities, leading to armed militias...

I was able to come up with rules for Greek and Roman naval-combat using _Boat Wars_ and _Chassis and Crossbow_.

Then some guy in a British Army Colonel's uniform appeared and told me I was Being Extremely Silly.

I also had rules for Horses, after seeing the "Manhattan Mounties" reference in _RASG1_, so.... (The Hard Part: A horse is smart enough to *NOT* want to be shot at. :) )

Do you know what issue this article was in?
