Re: What's happening with Prime Directive
Spock's Brain isn't the worst episode? Ha! I'd like to see someone prove that. I think that Gene Coon wrote it to get even with Gene Roddenberry. The Gestapo for the funsies? You have a very sick idea of fun.

Re: What's happening with Prime Directive
You haven't been paying attention. There was a discussion of bad episodes.

Re: What's happening with Prime Directive
I believe that he's objecting to such a discussion taking place in this thread, because it is off-topic.

Re: What's happening with Prime Directive
The topic is whether there are new books coming out for Prime Directive. That seems to have been addressed: the answer seems to be No. If we aren't going to discuss anything off topic, I think maybe the thread is over?

If you think about it for the TOS era once you address the Romulans and Klingons what else is there? None of the other races had enough contact with the "major" powers to really matter. IIRC the old SFB rules focused on Federation, Klingons, and Romulans with little if anything on the ships of the other races (might be wrong as it has been nearly 40 years since I played)

It is actually very Easy to 'know' when the various shows take place - there was a book called the "Star Trek Chronology" by Michael and Denise Okuda - they worked on TNG, DS9, Voyager, and "Enterprise". The Okudas also just finished working on the third season of "Star Trek: Picard". They wrote the definitive 'canon' timeline. Here is the gist of all of it: "Star Trek Enterprise" takes place from April of 2151 to February of 2155...with the last episode taking place in 2161 "Star Trek Discovery" starts in 2256 - Michael Burnham says the calendar date in the opening narration. (May 11, 2256) The end of its second season is in mid 2258... "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" starts off in 2259 - the Stardate is said in the first episode ("2259.42" - mid February) "Star Trek: The Original Series" takes place during the years 2265 to 2269, with the animated show maybe taking place in 2270. The Star Trek movies take place between 2274 and 2292. Star Trek The Next Generation takes place during the years 2364 to 2370. Commander Data says the year onscreen in a 1st season episode. - Ed C.
