Default using the friendly card to steal?

Hello! I defeated a monster with a high number of treasures, when a player not participating in the combat used the "Friendly" card, stating that the card says if he chooses not to fight, which he is doing, all the monsters in the fight give him their treasure instead of me getting them for winning. Is this allowed?

You (the player fighting the monsters) always gets the treasures, not the player who plays the card.

No. He couldn't choose to fight it without a card that would transfer the combat to him, so he can't choose not to fight it.

Note that he can play that card during the combat to force the combat owner (you) to make the decision of whether to fight the monsters or not, though. Generally, the instructions on cards that are played during combat refer to the combat owner rather than the player of the card unless specifically mentioned.

Is there an official rule that states this? Some people don't regard posts on this forum as official rulings (yeah I know what you're thinking) and it's irritating.

You should note that not all threads and questions get an official response if they think the rest of us have answered it adequately.

Posts by myself and Andrew are official. Lenny and Devin count, too. It's highly uncommon to see a post from SJ. If anyone wants to argue that the above mentioned can't possibly write official posts, well, my e-mail's at the bottom of this one. . .
