Default Combat Piloting

was converting characters from another point-based RPG when I saw a skill with this name. I dnd't think too much of it, but thought I saw a Combat Piloting skill/advantage/technique (thinking technique) in another GURPS supplement...possibly a PDF download? can anyone direct me to where I should look?

It's a variant of Combat Riding (Gun-Fu p 26, Martial Arts p 69, Tactical Shooting p 43, maybe others).

Combat Piloting improves your Piloting to control your vehicle in combat, and increases the cap on your weapon skill for attack rolls made while piloting.

It would almost have to be an Perk or Technique, but I haven't had any luck finding it and don't know what it would be.

I doubt it's a perk since it's not in PU2.

I believe it's a Technique, not an actual skill. I haven't messed with it too much myself, as I tend to use the chase rules or Spaceships combat rules for dogfights.

GURPS' Combat Piloting is a Technique of Piloting, described in Gun-Fu and Tactical Shooting.

However, this does something different from Hero System's Combat Piloting, if that's what you're translating. Under Hero, a one-point Transport Familiarity with a category of vehicle lets you operate that vehicle safely under non-combat conditions. Hero's Combat Piloting is needed to get a vehicle's full DCV in combat, and generally to operate it under challenging conditions. Under GURPS, all of that comes under Piloting skill.

GURPS' Combat Piloting is a Technique that does just one thing. Weapon skills are capped at Piloting under some circumstances. This technique lets you buy up Piloting for the specific purpose of raising that cap.
