[DF] What DF titles would you like to see?
By my count, in Kromm's GURPS thread from his LJ, there are three further Dungeon Fantasy titles in the works. What do you hope to see released from this line in the future?
For my part, I hope there will be some sort of urban adventures guide, a kingdom/stronghold building supplement, and more from the Dungeon Fantasy Monsters series. I also hope to see some more adventures, since Mirror of the Fire Demon set such a good precedent. I guess I'd rank them 1. Urban Adventures, 2. Monsters, 3. Adventures, and 4. Strongholds. I know that wishing isn't binding on SJG, this is just meant to be a fun little exercise in anticipation and day dreaming. At most maybe it would give one of the writers a bit of inspiration or encouragement to write something they were on the fence about. |

Wow, did I ever misread the heading of this thread! My answer was going to be Xena.

Re: [DF] What DF titles would you like to see?
I'd love to see 1. Denizens: Thieves. 2. More Monsters, More Murder. 3. Urban Adventures.
While the Swashbucklers get a good amount of love, especially in the form of alternative classes in Pyramid 3-64 Pirates and Swashbucklers, the Rogue still doesn't completely replace Thief. To add injury to insult, they don't even get more power-ups along the other various weapon using classes in Pyramid 3-61 Way of the Warrior. So it's time to give some of the stealthy brethren some the love that they deserve. Besides, if you're going for an urban adventure setting, you need a class that'll get you into those locked places quietly. I'd hope that such a book might also give a version of the thief that specializes in traps. The disarming of traps, the setting of traps, give them a specialized version of Quick Gadgeteer to facilitate makeshift traps from arrows, daggers, and the medieval duct tape: rope.

DF: Maps -- Here's some cool places to drop into your next dungeon delve.
DF: Traps -- More great things for thieves to disarm, wizards to outwit, fighters to swear at, and bards to include on their cause of death.

Maybe not strictly part of the line, but a GURPS Lite: DF would be of interest.

DF Puzzles: This book would provide puzzles for the PCs to solve like the ones in the AD&D Tomb of Horrors.
DF Mythic Earth: Uses real world medieval religions and cultures in a high powered dungeon delving world. Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism along side earlier polytheistic faiths instead of made up gods like Garl Glittergold. Also more realistic cultures. |
