Default [GURPS DF] Welcome to Hell IC

Athelard hears a tap near his ear. He's groggy. He feels like going back to sleep. Then he feels another tap, this time on his head.

He hears a voice. "Hey," it says. "Hey, pal, wake up. But don't move."



The other two of you hear a voice in the distance and begin to wake up.

Casts missile shield, followed by darkvision, and then she'll take stock of her surroundings and try to stealthily head towards the voice she has heard if she doesn't already have a good view.

Cast 1 10, cast 2 13, stealth success by one 10

Opens one eye, grunts "Gonna be one of those days", then shakes himself and sits up to have a look around.

Michelle is in a dimly lit room. Green flames flicker from torches on the walls. The wooden slats that make up the floor are ancient and rotted. As she moves, she can feel them creaking underneath her, threatening to break and drop her to whatever is underneath.

The walls are stone and off in the distance you can see stone supports. But even these have failed in places. Stones are missing from the walls and the supports, and there are large holes in the wood where the stones have fallen through.

Though one part of the wall has completely fallen away, it's still obvious where you are: a prison cell.

You see much the same as Michelle, except Dorli is so heavy he can feel the boards underneath him beginning to give, even when he's not moving.

Michelle will continue towards the voices she heard before as best she can while still trying to be quiet. She'll also take a peek down one of the larger holes in the floor if it doesn't feel to unsafe and see what the break in the wall leads too.

Athelard slowly begins to stir, blinking his eyes open in confusion, then immediately trying to locate the source of the voice. He isn't moving just yet, but if he isn't injured, and doesn't seem to be facing a blade to the throat (or similar levels of threatening), he will attempt to sit up.

Does he seem to be in the same location as the others?

(We're waking up with all of our equipment on us, right?)

Here's an incredibly accurate drawing of what your surroundings look like.

Through the holes where the stones have fallen away, and where the floor is missing, you can see that you are surrounded on the top and sides by more cells. Where the wall is missing, you can see that there is a drop of a hundred or so feet to the ground, where there seems to be a large empty clearing. You can see that the prison circles around, and far on the other side are more cells.

Green light is coming in through all of these different holes. You would be able to see without your Dark Vision spell, but not very clearly.

On closer inspection, you can see that there are rusted bolts sticking out of the walls, and that the remains of ancient chains are attached to them.

Athelard sees what looks like a strange halfling about twenty feet away. He's wearing an odd-looking pair of goggles, and he has a sword twice his height on his back. It has an elaborate black handle, with a guard shaped like a skull with antlers sticking out. Its eyes are glowing red.

Athelard is on a rotted wooden floor near a wall. The rest of the floor has rotted away, leaving him stranded there against the wall. He can see that there is a large drop there, at least thirty feet, to another rotted wooden floor underneath him. And he can just barely see. A green light is emitted from torches on the walls, but it's not very bright.


Here's a picture. You're the white figure. The halfling is the yellow one.

(Well that's awkward.)

Athelard carefully sits up, and scoots himself against the wall before standing. He looks at the halfling on the other side of the room, taking in his odd appearance. Once he has surveyed his situation, he gruffly asks, "Where are we? And who are you?"
