I think that's the Hand Catch Technique.

(Which you can learn for Parry Missile Weapons, but you can also use the Technique with other skills -- presumably the unarmed ones, as otherwise your hand is full of some weapon. MA84 says you base it on Parry Missile Weapons for "ranged weapons", but you might read that as "weapons that your skill could have parried normally", to let unarmed fighters catch thrown weapons.)
