Albert, who with his largish nose, leather jacket, and crew cut Davies he resembles a poor man's Chrisopher Eccleson, makes his way purposefully through the casino toward table four with one of the guards.
The card counter is raking in a pile of chips and Albert places a hand on the back of his chair.
"Let's give you a hand taking those over to the cashier, cut you a nice Hibiscus Island cashier's check."

The man turns, and sizes you up for a second.
"How come?" he replies.

Carlos comes walking onto the resort and helps himself to the buffet. He's wearing a loud oversized Hawaiian shirt and cut-off jeans. He collects a slice of chicken for his plate and pops a second in his mouth, two ravioli and a two fat barbequed prawns, each pair split between his plate and mouth the same way. He smothers each item on his plate with it's accompanying sauce with a little look of disgust on his face. He didn't want to do this today, but no one would hire him on his rounds....again.

As he walks away from the table, there is a huge splash at the pool. Carlos sets down his plate quickly. He had already stuffed his face and had made the plate simply to drop on someone to create a little confusion... but this was a far better distraction, and not one traceable back to him. He quickly glances about, and sets off for the poolside bar, where everyone has left their stools to investigate the commotion.

The purse was just left behind... the affluent woman wearing a wispy pink wrap with her ruby earrings at the pool, clapping with an excited little hop for someone's ability to make a splash. She took three steps from her belongings, more than enough in all the commotion. He walked on past the bar and into the hotel. He had left the bag behind, but it was now short one room key-card.

If she wears rubies to the pool, he thought, she must have something spectacular to wear to dinner...

Carlos walks down the hallway of the third floor somewhat slowly, waiting for a couple to get on to the elevator. As the doors of the lift close, Carlos takes a few quick steps to the door belonging to the key card, and is in the room a breath later.

the boy has a quick look around and opens the drawers before stepping to the closet. He opens the door with purpose, looking straight at the floor. The seal is broken, and the key is missing from the room safe.

'This will take a minute' he thinks to himself, as he pulls his "lockpicks" out, a broken nail file, a few dental tools, random slender objects he'd collected in his 'visits'. Carlos starts to sweat as the minute he allotted for opening the box stretches to five, but finally it clicks.

As the door swings open, and Carlos sees the jewelry boxes he came for, he notices some papers, travelers checks and cash in the box as well. He grabs a few cases and starts putting them in his pockets, and then stops himself. Realizing if he empties the safe, it will bring on too much heat here at the hotel. Carlos replaces almost everything to where it was. But where there was $2,000 in traveler's checks before, there is $1,600 now.

If these high rollers noticed at all, they might think it was their own mistake, and if not, keeping it under $500 would insure a misdemeanor crime, and misdemeanor level investigation. The hotel would still be safe to work. $400 would last him a week or two if he was careful, and maybe he could find some work by then.

As Carlos is closing the closet door, he hears something and freezes to listen.

"I can't find my key." the ruby clad woman from the pool says, just outside the door.

"That's alright, I have mine." A masculine voice replies.

Carlos runs to the balcony and nearly falls as he turns a sharp left going through the door. The door swings open, just as Carlos passes out of view. He leaps to the next balcony and lands a bit loudly, but the sound is covered to the arriving couple by the closing door in their room.

Carlos creeps to the window to see if the room is occupied 'what a mess!' he thinks to himself as he quickly enters the suite and rushes for the door, beer bottles and drink glasses everywhere, and all the furniture shoved to the walls. He contemplates looking around a bit, but decides against it. The room's occupant might just be in the bathroom, and to room was kind of gross.

He slips off his Hawaiian shirt as he crosses the room, and he's wearing a grey tee shirt under it. He turns it inside out, as the garish pattern is only on the outside, it's reversible with a plain white interior. He slips it back on and steps out of the room and heads back to the pool... 'maybe I'll go for a swim before I leave'

You made all the rolls, so you make it out of the room, with the checks, without disturbance.
[You gain 1 CP for a series of successful risk-taking and 1 more for good role play]

Everyone near the pool hears a scream. As you look, you see a woman, covered in blood, grasping her neck. The lifeguard rushes over, as does the bartender. ALBERT JONES hears on his radio, "We have an injured guest at the pool, can medical staff please report to the pool."

Chance that a bloody mess like that would be caused by something that would also happen to me: ~1%
Chance that it would be caused by something easily avoidable, such as broken glass at the pool: >=50%
Resolved: Be more aware and generally careful near the pool.

That's a lot of blood. Chance that that person needs immediate help: non-negligible.
Chance that any of the people starting to crowd around have first aid training: 50%
Chance that any of them did as well in their first aid classes as I did and know to avoid the bystander effect: 5%, perhaps.

Ah, well.

George heaves himself up off the chair, makes sure to slip on his sandals in case the glass supposition was true, takes a moment to set himself into a posture denoting expertise, and walks over to the slowly growing crowd. He points at a random individual. "You're in charge of making sure there's a path for the medical staff by the time they arrive." He points to a second one. "You, keep people away from the blood and give us room to work."

He then glances down to see if he needs to step in and help or if the lifeguard appears sufficiently knowledgeable that he'd only get in the way if he tried.

"Madre de Dios"
Carlos whispers to himself as he approaches the pool and is startled by the sound of the woman's scream. 'What happened?' he wonders as he follows the rush of people. Carlos whispers "Two distractions get's you two infractions, as Billy the Kid used to say" to himself with a smirk, amusing himself with one of his invented sayings as he moves around the outer perimeter of gawking resort goers as he chooses a sufficiently distracted target with a sufficiently fat wallet...

As John Pierre was finishing up his shift, he heard the Radio broadcast. He felt worried about the guest and hoped he would turn out alright, but knowing that the medical staff at the resort where good at their jobs. After finishing his shift he starts getting ready to leave.
