Default Which of these things do you think do NOT exist in Star Wars?

Can you pick one and then explain why?

1.) Grow a brain- Grow a sentient mind from scratch

2.) Quantum laser propulsion- Fires a laser that turns vacuum energy into antimatter for propulsion

3.) Micro-black hole creation- Create mini- blackholes for power sources

4.) Intention decoding algorithm- Something a droid can use to predict what a sentient will do

5.) Thought recognition- A computer that activates with thought.

6.) Genetically engineer sentient beings to need less oxygen

7.) Cortical modem-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cortical_modem

8.) Optography-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optography

9.) Synthesized fitness- Something that can give you a full exercise workout without physically doing anything. Like an Elysium pod

10. ) Hypercapacitor- Supercharged capacitator https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercapacitor

11.) Planetary motor- Giant machine that speeds up the spin of a planet. Freeman Dyson envisioned it.

2. The existence of the ability to extract energy from vacuum implies that the universe is in a metastable "false vacuum" state, and the process of extracting that energy (for conversion to antimatter) would almost certainly result in a disastrous vacuum decay, leaving behind a universe incapable of supporting life (or even chemistry). If the technology were developed, it would end the universe in a fairly trivial span of time.

#1 seems very advanced for their mechanistic style of biology. It's also pushing a bit too far toward transhumanism and defining the nature of humanity for what I feel are Star Wars' main themes and space opera style.

#5 is definitely stepping on the purview of the force.

It's not just a matter of what we believe may be possible in our world. Which I think is the instinctive direction to go when adding to science fiction settings.

Great! You've just given away the Imperial menace for Episode X. You could have at least spoiler-tagged it.

(The Death Star's ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Vacuum Vacuum.)

1. They've already got droid brains. In the Republic/Empire's society it would simply be pointless to grow an organic droid brain. It would be an inferior version of the thing they've already got. However I could see it happening with some other culture with divergent technology.

2. They've already reactionless drive. It would be an inferior version of the thing they've already got.

3. We have no idea how Star Wars power generation works anyway. Micro-black holes as a new superweapon strikes me as something that would fit into their setting just fine.

4. Droids can already predict what people will do.

5. Thought activated computers seem totally pointless.

6. The Republic does not have the biological science capability for that sort of thing. Other cultures might. Of course since there are no planets that have low oxygen...

7. Already exists in for example that guy on Cloud City.

8. That's the kind of that Star Wars would probably turn to the Force for.

9. Sure whatever.

10. Sure whatever

11. Sure whatever.

#9 exists, IIRC. Prince Xizor in Shadows of the Empire had one.
