That's only implied by the need for an IQ contest. But without it, Phantom is nigh-worthless since it can easily be taken out by missile fire before it gets close enough to attack and Creations are cheaper.

Umm . . . Huh?

If you play Command and Conquer (or Starcraft or whatever) against an IQ0 opponent, you can still win, despite there being an IQ-based skill contest. Having IQ0 is not the same thing as having Immunity (IQ-resisted abilities). Sure, it makes some abilities, such as Mind Control, irrelevant, but Phantom behaves more like an Ally with Resistable by IQ, not like Stigmata.

I'm not getting you, DJ. Do you mean Phantom is worthless unless it can impede non-sentients?

So to sum up, there is no rule about how this spell works.

Just the opposite. I'm saying Phantom is worthless if it can. If it is solid to non-sentients then it will be easily destroyed before it can even attack. The advantage it has over Creations is that it is invulnerable until it gets within touching distances.

Sure there is. If it wins a contest of skill versus IQ after contacting an opponent, it will be solid as far as that opponent is concerned.

Not having an IQ is not the same thing as having IQ 0.

Where did you get the notion of 'not having IQ'? A toaster is IQ0, so is a vegetable.

Unless it has a computer chip, I see no reason to accept that. And even if it did, that would be a Digital Mind IQ and therefore immune to mind affecting spells outside of the Tech college.

There are official templates for inanimate, non-sentient objects. They have IQ 0. Not having sentience is IQ 0.

Do you call things that don't cost/give points Cost-Zero, or do you claim that they somehow do not have a price at all?
