Don't defend with daggers
The following list of nits if implemented would make a vast difference in Wizard/Hero balance at higher levels. You need to use all of these to close down all of the loopholes.

Curious to what the loopholes are you are referring to. What are you trying to fix?

Re: Don't defend with daggers
There are certain very powerful abilities that are just beyond what a starting character can have. These are things like Unarmed Combat IV and Weapon Expertise with a Staff IV. Pushing up the number of dice attackers need to roll doesn't make automatic hits less likely, but it greatly reduces triple and double damage results, which are the character killers in this game.

Re: Don't defend with daggers
The new philosophy of character generation, where characters get a heap of talents at generation, then don't get any talents for a long time, then collect talents when they have maxed out attributes, leads to a bunch of weird and IMO undesirable effects. My impression is that most people have decided not to use it. But I guess for those that do this kind of editing might be helpful.

Re: Don't defend with daggers
I use the new XP expenditure system as-is, and I like it. I haven't seen an alternative proposed here that I didn't think created more problems than it was trying to solve. It is true that your best character progression approach is to first rise in native stats until you've settled into your natural 'maxed out' ST-DX-IQ configuration, and then invest in stats, Mana and minor wishes. But I've seen players make that transition at 35-36 points total.
