Default Armor Familiarity: Axe

Would it be possible to buy the Armor Familiarity: Axe perk do buy off -1 DX for layering Armor? Would that be kosher?

So you'd buy off the -1 DX penalty to using an axe while wearing layered armor, regardless of the armor configuration, but only for using an axe? You would still have the penalty for any other DX related task.

It doesn't pass my believability test, but it seems balanced.

Well yes trained using Axe in layered armor. This is for a DF game set in Toril Forgotten Realms.
The PC is a Shield Dwarf.

In that case, it seems perfectly reasonable and about as believable as any other cinematic DF trait. If a player suggested it in my DF game (playing a Dwarf), I'd almost certainly approve. I might be overly generous and approve Axe & Shield provided the PC purchased Shield Wall Training as well.

Why not just use Suit Familiarity (Layered Armor) (mentioned in DF11), and remove the penalty for all instances?

I did not see that, only in MA for EV suits. Maybe reaching it allowing for all but IŽll check on it. Thanks,
