I have been considering something similar to this as an "extra detail" variant. I was contemplating giving shields a Min ST based on the LTC2 rules, like you did, but treating bucklers as being one handed, strapping it on the arm as being 1.5 hands (haven't gone far enough into this to sort out how this works), and a guige as adding +1 hands.

I'd start by finding the weight of the shield, then cranking through the stuff above. That way all weight-affecting factors are taken into account. Then, I'd penalize shield skill - not Block directly, that's basically just a parry with a shield after all - as you would for any weapon when Min ST isn't met.

That's my take anyway. It's not that far from yours, really.

Designer's Notes: Expanded Psychokinesis

Some more Designer's Notes - this one from my second ever Pyramid article. Plus a few "outtakes" (which were actually from a entire other book really).

Whoa! Would not have guessed MinST and shields would be such a hot seller, but cool

Before your post I would never have thought of combining the two

I think most GURPS gamers want more alternate rules - so that's probably a direction I'll be taking.

The Hurt Locker: Drones and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Phil Reed posted some really neat stuff about cyberpunk drones in Gun Metal Games’ Interface Zero Roleplaying Game. Basically - it was awesome and totally inspired me to finish up my own post about drones. As an homage to said inspiration I wrote up one of the drones he outlined for GURPS and a few others on today's Hurt Locker installment.

Gamemaster’s Guidepost: Wealth as an Attribute

Blargh. Sick so I 'll keep this short (vampires took too much blood yesterday at the hospital). What if Wealth was an attribute? What if cash on hand could be represented by another stat? Well...here's how I'd do it...

Not a patron yet? Why not!? It's a dollar down for the first special and a voice in what's being produced in the next month.

Your link is broken. There doesn't appear to actually be a URL there.

Carpe Blogiem: The Bonecarvers of Sicatra - Part I

I talk a bit about a unique organization in my fantasy campaign - Sicatra. These odd fellows are a blend of necromancers, psychopomps, undertakers, and sin eaters all in one. Born from a tradition handed down by the god of death himself, the bonecarvers can be found all over Sicatra laying angry spirits to rest, caring for the dead, and making sure that the halls of the dead remain inviolate.
