Re: Epic?
I'm new to Munchkin and we have never actually tried playing Epic most of the time when we play its already late at night so idk if most of the group would go for playing any longer. I would certainly love to try though.

Re: Epic?
Just a detail on my choice: I've never played Epic, but I intend to at some point.

Re: Epic?
Really it depends how the game's going. If it seems to be progressing too quickly, we'll usually take a vote on whether we want to implement the Epic Munchkin rules or not.

Re: Epic?
I've never played Epic, but would be willing to. Most of my usual group here in Portland probably wouldn't be down for the longer game, but I'm sure my old group in Philly would be. Next time I visit them I will see if they'd want to, as we always are sure to play some Munchkin when I visit anyway.

Re: Epic?
I haven't played Epic yet. Most of our games are usually later in the night and we try to play at least 2-3 games of different sets, and it takes us quite a few hours to do so.

Re: Epic?
I haven't played Epic yet, but not because I don't want to. Munchkin games tend to go long enough (we usually have a lot of players) without Epic rules making them go even longer. The few times we've had 4 players or so, they declined doing Epic.

Re: Epic?
I have never played Epic Munchkin. I have mentioned it to my friends several times but most of our games tend to have 5 or six players which tends to already be 1.5-2 hours long, which is at the point that most of everyone else seems to want to finish the game. I would LOVE to have an Epic game, but I have yet to find just the right balance between patience and timing for the rest of the people I play with to spark their interest.

Re: Epic?
Usually my group will decide if we are playing epic depending on the time or not. Usually when someone is level 6-8, we all vote if we are doing epic or not on some sets.
Due to the fact that Apoc and Conan do not have Epic right now, we do not play epic on those sets, so :( Last edited by sjur; 03-28-2013 at 12:42 PM. Reason: Editing |

Re: Epic?
I said "I usually play epic". The way it usually ends up working is that I or one of my friends gets to Level 10 first and someone else says "We're playing Epic!"
I can't wait to see the Apocalypse Epic rules when they come out! |

Re: Epic?
I echo earlier comments to the effect that it's difficult to find time for a full epic game.
That said, I would hate to see it modified to shorten it in length, I've always liked the idea that epic is there when we have time for such a game. |
