Default HMG sourcebook?

Does anyone know what book the HMG (I believe) was introduced in? It was a 1 space 2d-1 machine gun variant. I recall it from Uncle Al's catalog from Hell (which I no longer own).

The HMG was first introduced in Car Wars Tanks. The weapon in that book had a listed damage of 2d6-1.

The listing in UACFH for the HMG has damage revised as 2d6-2.

Car War Tanks

I beleive that CW: Tanks was the first place the HMG appeared.

And yes, it is a little bit overpowered, allowing you to put two of them in a turret for about 4d6 damage with a 360 degree coverage.

Dang you.

You beat me my one lousy minute on that response.

We must have been typing at the same time.

ROFL. I had to stay home today because my area was still snowbound, the only reason I was on posting to the board.

In reality a HMG (12.7mm) is a nasty weapon with higher penetration than a Infantry Vulcan Machine Gun (5.56mm Microgun) or a Vulcan Machine Gun (7.62mm Minigun). Real-world HMGs usually have long barrels therefore they may occupy the same amount of space as IVMGs or VMGs.

I love the HMG. My 'Scorpion' low-division build relies on them. They are great with HD ammo.

Probably would have been more balanced if it was 1.5 spaces but fractional spaces are always messy.

If that was the case, I wonder how many sets of linked HMG/LR combos you'd see . . . .'
