I would actually go with the Pathfinder classifications myself, but that is just me.

Could you explain what the difference is? I never really played or ran Pathfinder.

Two things that I learned from Dungeons & Dragons is that I LOVE GURPS and it isn't really a compliment when a gnome tells you your hair smells nice.

Possibly. I would need to reread it, but from what I recall, it could work, though most D&D wizards I've played and seen played were not specialized, having spells from several or all schools in their spellbooks.

I rather think Thaumatology itself would be better (styles are not just lists of spells, IIRC, and might work better for clerics or specialized casting classes), but I've read it more recently.
