Mecha Support?
Well, my players want to do mecha. I'm not stuck on GURPS, but I don't have Mech Warrior or Mekton Zeta but I do have the Spaceships supplement that covers mecha. Is there more support in Pyramid somewhere? I'm not sure I want to learn a whole new game so I'd rather do GURPS. I don't really have the time I'd need to develop a whole setting and range of mechs right now. I really wish we had Vehicles 4e but I'd be willing to work with what I've got.

Re: Mecha Support?
Pyramid #3/40: Vehicles has "Mecha Operations," and Pyramid #3/51: Tech and Toys III has "Modular Mecha," a lite version of building mecha. Pyramid #3/24: Bio-Tech has "Biomecha," does not use Spaceships rules, but you may get some ideas from it. Also, vaguely related, Pyramid #3/20: Infinite Worlds has "Cyberme," an "anime" world to use mechs in.

Re: Mecha Support?
Got them, thanks. Modular Mecha looks like just what I want. Not too complex and lets them build their own mechs.

Re: Mecha Support?
Is the 3rd edition mecha book completely incompatible with the basic set?

Re: Mecha Support?
IRRC Weapon Stats, Armor, and Hit Points are all based on different formuli and thus incompatible.

Re: Mecha Support?
You can always cheat and pick up battlemech and dig up the old Pyramid article (or was it a ROLEPLAYER article?) that suggests how to integrate GURPS with the game system.

So we have partial but not total incompatibility. I can also say from experience that character creation and general GMing for Basic 4e works fine with 3e tech books. I did this back at the dawn of 4e when we had no 4e Tech books.

Re: Mecha Support?
I ran a very fun little GURPS/Battletech campaign with just that article. You could easily use it with 4th edition with just a few updates.
