So what? Do you think prices will drop in the new BIO? They shouldn't, as 4e DR uses lesser discounts for limited areas than No Vitals did in 3e.

So nothing. Klaus just seems to think you have access to a book that hasn't been printed yet, and I was setting him straight.

Favorites from my campaign:

Accessory (Black Shield of Necros) [1] . . . for the priest of the death god. It means that he has an ordinary, physical shield -- it only covers the front, it has a weight and finite DR/HP, and he needs the Shield skill to block with it -- that he can "fast-draw" via a brief prayer.

Covenant of Rest [1] . . . for the undead-hunter. This means his dead body can't be turned into a zombie, necromancers can't communicate with his spirit after death, etc. It's an absolute immunity that I suppose is worth lots and lots of points in theory, but since he can only use it when he's dead . . .

Shtick (Can always strike a flame) [1] . . . for the mad alchemist who is constantly blowing things up and setting fires.

Shtick ("Hey look, I've got a knife") Once per game session the character can pull a knife from his person; even if he's been searched; even if it was a strip search; even if he's been left naked in the desert.

This was used exactly once after the character was thrown in jail, right in front of the guard, and then he made a point of showing the knife to the guard. The guard says "hey, you can't have that, throw that out" so the player says "I throw it next to his head" and proceeds to roll a critical failure followed by a maximum damage roll... to the eye. How a drunk and disorderly turns into homicide...

*chuckling* Reminds me of a thread some time ago in which a ninja-boy was attacked while coming out of the shower, and yet he was still able to produce a knife with which to defend himself...

Shouldn't that be a Gizmo?

A Gizmo could be almost anything . . . a knife, small handgun, box of matches, ticket to the opera, etc. "Knives only" would be a crippling limitation on Gizmo -- call it -80%. That would cost 1 point, and be a valid perk.

It's a very limited one, if it is. A Gizmo can specifically be anything you need at the moment. This is just a knife...

Edit: Baron'd by Kromm!

No. Gizmo means that you don’t have to decides what the item is until you use it.

Edit: Arg, triple crosspost.
