World building

I was wondering if any of you knew of a freeware program that would generate a world map for me. hopefully with options to tell it how much of the planet is water and some other criteria. I have no visual artistic talents and I would really like my world map to not look like it was drawn by your average second grader.

I have time to create my world since I don't have a gaming group, am beginning to learn a new game (GURPS) since the death of D&D. 4th Edition is not D&D by the way. It killed what remained of the spirit of the game after 3rd edition was put out.

I am hoping to one day find a group to play with online, but I have been unable to locate any kind of RPG groups in RL or Online. I think it is because our hobby is dying.

If you happen to already own Civ III or IV you can create maps with the sort of inputs you are asking about and then take screen shots to get what you are looking for. If you are inclined there is also a map building utility and a bunch of customization possibilities.
