Default GURPS Thaumatology: Urban Magics

Magic in cities:
Consider this as you read
Stoddard's latest work.
— Some hack
We just released GURPS Thaumatology: Urban Magics on e23. This 55-page supplement is exactly what you need if you like to set magic-using campaigns against an urban backdrop and have the city inspire and influence the magic, and vice versa. It includes new urban-themed spells and variant magic systems, notes on integrating these into city-based campaigns, a solid examination of magical urbs and their features, and a bunch of campaign themes. See – we aren't always thinking about dungeons!

Oh, crap!

One more to add to my shopping list for this weekend. I was already planning on picking up all the GURPS Action books (I'm on a major modern kick lately -- SOooo tired of medieval/ancient culture fantasy), along with GURPS Black Ops and possibly Cliffhangers.

I guess one more won't be too bad though.

Thanks!

And here I was just thinking "Hmmm, how can we combine this with Action and Gun Fu"

This looks very promising. Those delvers will need a change of pace after cleaning up the dungeons. Enchanted City? Very cool! It's definitely on my wish list.

Sonofa...I forgot Gun Fu! I need to hurry up and buy before this list gets any bigger.

I bought this one immediately!

Now when I'm going to get time to read it, I don't know...

Nothing says that the cities have to be low-tech fantasy ones. You definitely could combine this supplement with Gun Fu to get . . . hm . . . Big Trouble in Little China. That would be cool. You'd probably want Action 3: Furious Fists, if not all of Action.

Then again, you could use it for the "town" aspect of a Dungeon Fantasy campaign just fine.

And you'd find rules for hell money, which would fit right it.

Oh, hell, yeah! You've dialed right in on my frequency.

More immediately, I could really use this for a game I'm putting together that is Tim Powers Declare-inspired mixed with liberal doses of Buffy, Angel or The Dresden Files thrown in for good measure.
