Alphabet Supers Krypto-Freaks Edition

It is time again for collaborative super heroes/super villains/super others. I'll pick a supername starting with a, and then we take turns coming up with someone with a supername for the next letter and do on and so forth. In this edition the theme is people gaining their powers through living in smallville and being exposed to green meteor rock.

A-Arachnous (lemminglord)

Arachnous
Allen Koch was an exterminator who found meteor rock increased the deadliness of his all natural insect pesticide. The fumes also affected him and the arachnids, whom he always avoided killing, feeling them to be fellow exterminators.

The shared fumes gave him the ability to control and temporarily enlarge spiders he has exposed to his chemical cocktail.

The shared fumes also give the arachnids higher intelligence, and the ability to influence Allen, though Allen doesn't see it.

The arachnids want the ultimate hunting ground, leading Allen to leave his wife, selling his home and purchasing an old nuclear bunker.

Unfortunately, teenagers in Smallville love trespassing, and the arachnids want these kids dead.

Bedrock

Alvin Samuelson discovered his power inadvertently when he tried to commit suicide by jumping off a tall building, and it didn't work. He found himself at ground level in a small depression in the ground. Fortunately, no one noticed his jump.

Alvin is exploring his new power using experiments in his basement. He knows that when he is in danger, he momentarily turns into statue-like form of some very hard as-yet-unknown substance. He hasn't yet discovered whether he can control the transformation, and he certainly cannot move while in statue form. In fact, he has no memory of the time he spends in statue form at all. Further experiments are pending.

C- Cacaphony

A small time 'fire and brimstone' preacher, Jebediah Irish, was out on a camping retreat when exposed to fragments of green meteor that allowed him to gain a 'sense' of what other people were thinking. Jeb soon learned that the true nature of his power was to allow the subtle psychic impluses to be 'heard' anyone within earshot of his voice.

In large groups, the unbearable din of dozens of vague thoughts and emotions quickly drives people mad, most of them violent.

In small groups, the bearing of emotions and thoughts, allows Jeb to be a skilled business negotiator and is currently in talks to take his 'old time religion' sermons to the Airwaves.

D - Darkness

Esmeralda Delacroix can cause a globe of utter inky darkness to appear around her, reaching out as much as 25 meters. This darkness cannot be pierced by even the strongest mundane light-sources. She herself is not affected by it, since she is blind since birth.

Esmeralda is currently in negotiations with the military, who are exploring possible uses for her power.
