Fast play rules
We played with fast play rules for the first time last night and there was a question regarding the Listen At The Door phase. The rules says to draw a face down door card which may be played. Then proceed to kick down the door. If a monster was drawn during the Listen phase can a player choose to play it and fight it then Kick Down The Door and fight a 2nd monster? Or if no monster was found while kicking, look for trouble?

Re: Fast play rules
I played this incorrectly at first. When you Listen, you may play that card only if it is otherwise legal (Race/Class/etc, Curse!.) Since you can't Look for Trouble until after you Kick Open a Door, a Monster just goes in your hand. But if there is no Monster when Kicking, you now have one to Look for Trouble on the same turn. It's just to give you more opportunity to find Monsters. Not to let you have more than one Combat on a turn.

Re: Fast play rules
Thanks for clearing that up. We were playing it slightly differently where if you drew a monster during the Listen phase and want to fight it you could play it then and just skip the Kick phase.

I made that mistake at first too :) Andrew makes an official ruling about it here:
