looting the corpse
are ANY cards fair game when looting a corpse or just items? also, if you kick down the door and a curse hits you do you continue your turn?

Any card that is not kept when you die is fair game. You keep your Race and Class when you die so those are safe.
Yes, you continue your turn after a Curse!.
