This is starting to remind me of that cartoon where a generic D&D style human accuses the equally generic elf of looking like a girl.
To which the elf responds that it appears everything looks like a girl to humans, hence all the half-elves, half-orcs, minotaurs, centaurs... (and sadly, in Greek myths at least, that tended to be more or less exactly the actual origin story). |

What methods do you use to justify the existence of your monstrous hybrids? I generally use very high mana (for fantasy settings) or genetic engineering (for science fiction settings), though there are potentially dozens of sources (divine curses, spirit parents, corrupting chemicals, surgical fusions, etc.).
