I’ve emailed about this, but gotten no response, so I thought I’d ask here. If I wanted to create a live play GURPS podcast, what would Steve Jackson Games position be on that? Is it permissible, or copyright infringement?

You may not get an answer till the office pens up after the holiday weekend.
So my unofficial answer is we have a couple of those already happening.

As Refplace says, completely unofficially I've never heard of a problem. People I know stream GURPS games, I stream GURPS games, so do scores of others. Outside of GURPS, there are YouTube/Twitch videos of groups playing all kinds of different tabletop RPGs -- D&D alone has many hundreds.

I get that it’s very unlikely that anything would happen to me, but I’d still appreciate getting the company’s blessing. Respect and all that Jazz.

The SJG online policy has:

"[Can I] Run a game of GURPS, Toon or In Nomine on an online chat system, with a Game Master?

Yes; as we see it now, that's really no different from running a game for your friends in your living room. Anything more than a character creation game aid is a problem, because at that point it's not just like a game in your living room; it's more like a "computer game."

What if I generate profit from it, via Patreon or ad sales?

I have no idea, that wasn't part of the original question. :)
