great tape measure for GURPS

You can write the range increments on the side with the range modifiers on it. |

Re: great tape measure for GURPS
I like these.
I made a bunch of these. I have something like 8 of them. Laminated in color (grays come out better in color). Didn't cost me even $5 and I have more than enough for everybody to use. |

I might also recommend the Story Tape from Lee Valley: http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/pag...59&cat=1,43513
It was introduced as an April Fools joke a few years back, and turned out to be popular enough that they actually took it to production.

Re: great tape measure for GURPS
After last night's session, I'm thinking of taking a piece of string and putting a knot in the places where the range penalty changes. We'll see how it works!

Re: great tape measure for GURPS
Why not just use the official GURPS Range Ruler? It's got the range increments already marked on it, along with other useful information.

Re: great tape measure for GURPS
To me, that's just a tape measure. I mark mine with a pencil and they aren't designed for it.
This is cool - keep a record of your kids age/ height; an April Fool that came useful LOL But the GURPS Range Ruler is Free (except for your printing costs), if you can get your printer to print it properly. And you'll need a ruler to check that. But if you have a ruler... Nope, the GRR wins. Unless you're playing on a different scale, eg 1cm to 1 metre, then it's still a handy reference.

Re: great tape measure for GURPS
I've tried knotted and/or colored strings, standard rulers and yardsticks and even tape measures before, but ultimately wind up using the GURPS Range Ruler. In fact, I generally include one (laminated, of course) as part of the Player Pack that I give my new players.

Re: great tape measure for GURPS
I have found the gurps range ruler is clumsy in actual use. when I try and use it in a modern game as ranges are longer.
