Hmm. Not sure I agree. I can't count the number of times someone jumped out of a wrecked vehicle to continue the fight on foot (90% chance of death of course but people still did it). It's gonna frustrate people when they're told they can't do this.
And no RUNNING OVER PEDESTRIANS?! C'mon, that's how you score points! |

In this game, you cannot do that out of the gate. We're focused on cars with guns for the launch. You don't have a car? You're not a concern.

I think the key words here are "out of the gate."
They're not saying "we're not going to do this." They're saying they want (rightly IMO) to focus on cars exploding in pretty fireballs for a bit before getting to the drivers desperate enough to use an SMG outside of their armored cocoon. |

Recent experience of running peds vs cars/trucks in 2.5 leads me to suspect that pedestrian integration needs more work than 2.5 had time or space for.
Peds in the arena should die, peds in cover in road fights should generally win (in my experience). I love peds vs car fights, but I would agree that they should not be the focus of a drive fast, blow stuff up game. |

Agreed. That's more supplementary material that's only in the way when learning a new game. The new edition of Car Wars is designed to be playable quickly out of the box; we'll let weirdness like pedestrians and continuing characters wait for a supplement for those who want more than just cars with guns.

Only one more month till the fiction Kickstarter.
To be frank, the background is just as fun (and important to me) as the game, so I'm very excited that I'll get some fiction before the game releases. I used to really love the road atlases... |
