Re: What is your typical Munchkin game like?
Our group likes experimenting with blending core sets (almost always with CWBH), but we always come back to Fantasy Munchkin with all its expansions & boosters :)

Wow! Nearly Unanimous!
My group plays it pretty straight. Core set with one or two expansions. On occasion we will make it silly and mix some base sets.

We're about to try Demented Dungeons with Fantasy - if we use Dungeons in another core set that might not be considered blending but if it is that'll be our first. We usually enjoy the individual themes separately (for now).

Haven't got into mixing core sets yet. Just playing with a core and expansions can be confusing enough sometimes.

Re: What is your typical Munchkin game like?
While I own Cthulhu and am going to get 2,3,4, and at least 2 Kill-O-Meters plus the boxes, I JUST got Cthulhu, so we haven't played it much.
Therefore, every OTHER time we play it's: Munchkin Deluxe, 2,3,4,5,7,8, Munchkin Conan, 2 Kill-O-Meters, Boxes of Holding, RYBOGP Jumbo D6s, GITD Jumbo D6s, Sparkly Pink Jumbo D6s, Marked, Reloaded, Enhancers, Penny Arcade, Skull Kickers, Conan, The Guild, W23 '10 '11 & '12, Babes, Black Pawn & Babe, GITD Pawn & Babe, plus every colored English promo card available besides Touched by Cthulhu & Venison Benison ('cause we don't use those extra items). We also have the option of Munchkin 6, Fairy Dust + Dice, Munchkinomikon; then there're all the holiday cards + all four Jolly Jumbo D6s, and Easter Eggs, for when it's seasonally appropriate. I'm kind of a completionist when it comes to Munchkin Fantasy...

Re: What is your typical Munchkin game like?
I almost always play with a deck about the size of a core set plus one full-size expansion, but sometimes that's a pure deck (ie. Star 1+2+Ships) and sometimes it's a blend (ie. "Pearl" - half of Booty 1+2, half of Zombies 1+2, and all of F&S and MZ3).
In either case, all the promos and boosters for each included set get included. I also don't blend more than two sets, nor do I blend anything with Fantasy, which is big enough as it stands. In fact, while I do have one "full-bore" Fantasy deck (with an extra set of Portals in the mix), I more commonly play one of my half-size decks. So, yeah, I'm one of the 8.24%. ;) |

Re: What is your typical Munchkin game like?
I've been sticking to the "core with expansions" motif. Haven't actually tried mixing cores yet, mainly because finding a group bigger than 3 or 4 hasn't been that easy. Not giving up on trying though :)

Re: What is your typical Munchkin game like?
Between the munchkin crew, we have most of the games and expansions. Everyone has their favorites. We play what we call "munchkin leap/sliders". We set a timer for 15-20 minutes. When the timer goes off we switch games. Discard piles stay, as well as the character sheets and cards in hand. We just switch out the door and treasure decks. It's pretty fun and you have no idea what munchkinly tricks your friends have up their sleeves.
