What is your typical Munchkin game like?
Some recent threads have made me wonder about what y'all's games look like, so I'm going to post a couple of polls. This is poll #1. As incentive (not that I figure y'all will need it), when these polls close, I'm going to randomly choose one respondent from each poll to get a Munchkin care package.
Please choose carefully; vBulletin doesn't let you change your answer once you've locked it in. And please feel free to use the comment thread to go into more detail about your choice! If the thread starts to drift, I'll be pretty ruthless about cleaning it up, so maybe consider whether your post would do better in its own conversation, especially if you're replying to someone else.

Re: What is your typical Munchkin game like?
We normally just play with one set at a time and seem to alternate sets pretty evenly. Fantasy might get a little more playing time than everything else. Every once in a while (20% of the time?) we'll experiment with mixing sets.

Re: What is your typical Munchkin game like?
I'm not sure which answer is best.
Primarily play Fantasy Munchkin blended with Conan and everything Fantasy (boosters, expansions, promos). So, somewhere between: Two or more core sets plus some expansions. and Everything we have - all the core sets, expansions, and promo cards we can shuffle. It's not *everything* we have, since we've got Apocalypse and Impossible and I have no intentions of blending them together. |

Re: What is your typical Munchkin game like?
I haven't played a blended game, yet, as I can't decide on a method to shuffle the decks to gether or to draw from random decks. I'm also often playing with people new to the game rather than an established group, so I tend to stick to the smaller sets rather than Fantasy.

Haven't actually tried blending yet, not sure how interested I am honestly. I also think I'd probably be the only one in my group who might be. Thinking about trying Apocalypse with 1 or 2 of the smaller sets though just to see how it goes.

Re: What is your typical Munchkin game like?
Yeah, I might have misvoted as well.
Generally, we play with Fantasy+Expansions+a few Boosters+a few Promos. There is a LOT shuffling involved, however. I really want to play one game that's Epic, using Fairy Dust, Portals, Munchkinnomicon, and....I know there's one more thing we have, but I can't remember what. That's annoying. |

There is no typical Munchkin game in my circles, but when I pick, I'll opt for blending my complete Star with my complete Booty.
Lots of shuffling first and sorting afterward. |

Re: What is your typical Munchkin game like?
I currently own complete sets of Fantasy, Cthulhu, Star, Bites, Zombies, Conan and Apocalypse.
We usually pick a different set each time we play, we haven't really tried to mix them yet (except for shuffling Conan into Fantasy, but that didn't really work out well, too many Fantasy expansions, it drowned out Conan). But I am eager to try a mix of Booty and Star (Space Pirates! Yeah!) and just waiting for a chance to buy Booty. And we haven't played Apocalypse yet, I only recently got it. I'm wondering about trying for the Zombie Apocalypse... ;) Last edited by NeosMagus; 03-15-2013 at 01:49 AM. Reason: Typo |
