Optional Rule: Limited Exploration
This is a proposed optional rule for Munchkin Quest. Please post your thoughts, and if you playtest the rule, make sure you indicate that your comments are based on playtesting!
* * * One of the reasons Munchkin Quest turns can take a while, especially early in the game, is the possibility of exploring two or even three rooms on a single turn. This also greatly disadvantages players at the end of the turn sequence, particularly in a five- or six-player game. So this optional rule is simple: a player may only explore one room a turn. He may move as much as he wants, as long as he only explores once.

Re: Optional Rule: Limited Exploration
This is both good and bad I think.
The Good: Players 5 and 6 will probably at least make it to a monster on their turns. The Bad: Players 1 now gets move one, search one, done. It also removes the multi-monster per turn unless someone fails a fight. Will think on this some more. -Jason |

Yes, it's cool to gain five levels in a turn, but the guy who went right before you is zoning out because he's still got half an hour before it's his turn again. That is not fun for anyone.

It also removes the multi-monster per turn unless someone fails a fight.[\QUOTE] Which is bound to happen eventually. And don't forget about wandering monsters. There are plenty of multi-monster turns later on. I like this rule a lot, but I think it's best played with the alternate uses for movement rule. Last edited by crimhead; 11-07-2010 at 01:32 AM. |
