Axes of Evil Question

I apologize if this has been answered somewhere else on the forum - I could not find an answer however.

In a recent game of Munchkin, player A had the Axes of Evil equipped as their only "item" Player B hit player A with a Curse loose 1 small item card. Player A argues that it had no effect because the Axes of Evil do not have a gold amount or a No Value text - which according to the rules makes it NOT an item at all. Clearly this being something that takes up 2 hands it is meant to be an item. I ruled that it was in fact an item. Which I am sure is the correct answer - but that leads me to my question...

How much are the Axes worth? I took a sharpie and inked in 700 Gold Pieces this afternoon. If there is no official answer then I was wondering what other people would consider them worth.

We've had official responses that it should be an Item, the missing value was a mistake. We haven't had an official response as to what its value should be.

The value should be based on its bonus, available use(who can use it) and slots it takes up. I would have to say that 700 gold pieces sounds about right. I will probalbly do the same and pull out a sharpie. Althought it would probably be best to get someone else to write it for me. My writing is like that of a 1st grader haha.

After looking at other +4 Items, and considering the extra special abilities this card has, I'm agreeing with Patsy -- 700 Gold Pieces it is. Emailing errata now.

700 gold makes gaming sense, and is currently official.
Should I acquire my own copy in an un-valued state, however, it's getting marked to match TheBook, i.e. 666 gold.
