No room. You're on the ground. Hard packed dirt. You can hear the old halfling talking off in the distance. You can't quite make out who he's talking with. Could be a woman. Could be an echo.

It's a good distance off from where you are.

When you get close, he spins around and reflexively pulls something small out of a pocket on his belt. When he sees you, he slips whatever it is back into the pocket. "You again," he says. "Join the others." Then he shakes his head. "I'm going to see if there's any more of you. I'm trying to get all of you out of here at once. I don't want to spend two weeks finding you in my traps."

Then he starts walking off, leaving you there alone with Michelle. He's grumbling something you can't understand.

Michelle will turn to face the newcomer. Athelard should see a women of about average height and weight, long white hair, leather armor along with a tall pointed black hat with a star and a moon sewn onto it, and a rather banged up backpack. Nevermind how banged up and bruised she looks.

She'll say "So from what he just said you just found yourself here too, correct?" She'll continue on with The halfling said to meet up at the base of a broken tower off in that direction where he'll explain things, care to join me?

After about a minute, the halfling comes back. "Oh, I forgot to mention. The entrance... err, exit for you is super trapped. I didn't want anyone getting in here. HEY DWARF!" he yells. "THE EXIT'S TRAPPED!"

Then he runs off again.

Yelling, "So how do we get past it without tripping it?!"

"Nothing but trouble!" he yells back.

On hearing the shouting, Dorli will shout back "Hey, miss, wait up a moment!"

He'll drop his shield over the edge, then attempt to secure the rope around his waist where it will break his fall if he slips before going over the edge and rappelling down.

Climbing default-8 (-1 encumberance): 3d6=11

A failed roll means a fall from halfway up, but the rope catches him, so unless it breaks he hopefully avoids falling damage. Once down, he recovers his shield and goes towards where he heard the female voice.

Dorli slides down the rope and finds himself on the ground. He narrowly avoids snapping his leg off on all the stones lying around. The halfling must have sledgehammered at least twenty of those stones.

Dorli looks around for the female voice he heard shouting.
