It would be useful to have a generic and easy to use method of switchable packages that include disadvantages. In principle you can just stack all the relevant disadvantages on the base character and then each alternate ability includes Negated Disadvantage for any disadvantage not appropriate to the current form, but ech.

Don't get me wrong, I can be that way too. Actually, I'm exclusively that way... Once I set my character's thematic limits, I'll absolutely maximize the crap out of every point I can finagle from my miserly GM. That being said, I was only able to find 50 points worth of thematic and stomach-able disadvantages for the magical girl template, so it won't be too bad this time.
