A home brew GURPS DF type campaign is the only one still going strong through Covid and summer vacations.

Kind of a one time Banestorm event some three hundred years ago landed a bunch of disparate cultures all over the map. A couple died out almost immediately leaving "alien" ruins, a few have kept going. Intelligent races known so far are Humans, Yandra, Leimiam, Arco and Nablik.

All the races come from places they had never interacted with one another before (as in our Earth with Humans). Yandra are sort of Dwarf analogies, but not. Leimiam are sort of Elf analogies, but not. Arco are a sort of goblin/kobold mashup, and Nablik are Orcish in appearance but definately not orcs.

Humans and Yandra have been interacting for a hundred years or so (they were located relatively close to eachother), and the Leimiam have recently made contact with both Humans and the Yandra. Most of the cultures have been struggling as the physics of the world was not compatible with where they came from. They have all been experimenting with magic and technology trying to either force it to act like they think it should or adapting themselves to the new environment.

The world is a "TL?" mishmash with the notable exception that as if yet no culture has figured out a way to make a chemical reaction that results in an explosive release of energy. The best that has been done thus far is a long term sustained release of heat or Steam. Iron is not as common as it is on Earth, and Magic doesnt work in a familiar way, and Gods seem to be a real thing.

My current game's set in the late 1930's of a fantasy world. Goblins and trolls out in the colonies, trying to make a name for themselves and stay out of the Great Powers' impending war.

I started out aiming for a style between Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean, but things have gone gloriously wrong. In four or five sessions, the party have found and lost a MacGuffin, got two or three factions out to kill them, and thoroughly foiled each others' plans.

I'm not sure if the next session will see them bombed, demonsworn, or victorious against the odds; but either way it will be magnificent.
