Default Afflicting a Meta-Trait

You can use Affliction to give Advantages, Disadvantages, and bonuses and penalties to attributes.

What is the preferred way to Afflict a meta-trait, like a template? RAW or other official ruling would be ideal, or some semi-official take on it if that's not available, otherwise a consensus stance.

To me, it makes most numbers-sense to break the meta-trait up into its component advantages, disadvantages, and attribute bonuses / penalties, and then build the final Affliction and its point cost from all of that. That wouldn't be necessary if all of the above followed the same fixed CP-to-modifier% value, but that isn't the case (Advantage is +10%/CP and Disadvantage is +1%/CP, for instance). Breaking the meta-trait up and creating this sort of complex Affliction would get the numbers right, and ensure that the final point cost wouldn't be more or less expensive than one would expect otherwise.

On the other hand, the above seems very complicated and annoying. Some meta-traits are very involved, after all - there's no limit to how complex they can be. It obviously would be easier to treat a net-positive meta-trait as a single advantage and a net-negative meta-trait as a single disadvantage. But then the final CP value of the Affliction wouldn't be quite right (in fact, it could be substantially or even ridiculously cheaper).

So what is the standard approach? What do you do when building or allowing the build of an Affliction that afflicts meta-traits?

I think the standard way is to Afflict an Alternate Form.

Affliction (Alternate Form) is RAW and specifically suggested in Powers for transformations.

This actually won't work for many Meta-Traits as there's no way to Afflict Features.

Spliting just does not seems right to me. It looks like that you should be able to afflict every characteristic separated in this case.
