Picking up items

"If your search finds a monster, you don’t get the dropped Items unless you kill the monster and take its own treasures." (from the rules sheet)

Does this mean that if I win the fight I get BOTH the monster's treasures AND the dropped items of the room?

Sorry. May be it's becouse my bad English, but I can't understand the rules. Can I take all dropped items by spending one Move (or one search)? Or I must spent one Move for each Item?
