Default Licensing In Nomine?

Mostly out of curiosity....

What are the chances Steve Jackson Games would license 3rd-party publishers to make products for In Nomine, or open it up to fan content by doing something like D&D's DMs' Guild, the World/Chronicle of Darkness's Storytellers' Vault, Unknown Armies's Statosphere, etc.?

I don't know those things work legally or financially, but it seems like that might be a cheap way to resurrect this beloved game, and maybe even test/build an audience for SJGames to think about publishing new material their own selves....

Intriguing idea. Archangel Beth would be the one who could best comment on this, but I know that SJG tends to be *very* careful about third-party involvement with any of its licenses so that it can maintain a consistent level of quality control. The company has spent decades building a reputation, but it only takes one slipshod product to tear that down.

That said, I'm all in favor of stoking the In Nomine locomotive again, by whatever means prove to be practical. A friend and I would love to get the blessing of SJG on some Superiors material we created a while back. :)

If you have a formal business proposal, you can send it to licensing@sjgames.com for consideration. That consideration is unlikely to be swift as this is far from our top-priority line right now, so consider that as you're writing your business plan. And the answer may well be "Sorry, no," because this is far from our top-priority line right now.

FYI, Beth may be able to advise on the game-related details of your plan, but she won't be the one formally assessing its merit. That's no slight to her, just pointing out that licensing isn't her department.

Thank you, Andrew. I appreciate the clarification on the internal structuring and process. With a smaller company like SJG, I know that staff can wind up wearing enough hats for an Easter parade.
