Default 2018 Granite State Team Challenge!

The 2018 Granite State Team Challenge is in the books!

This is a big annual game I run, and I post a link to the gallery every year. This year was our 5th annual event, and our biggest ever with 12 players.

It is a div 25 event, and for the 1st time we changed it up and played it with 4 teams.

It is a big album, but if you are interested in seeing how it went down this year pics are here! -> https://imgur.com/a/xzdQSZh

I think the team wrinkle was a big success, and it is likely the format we will use next year.

I'll second that, great pics. Love the Vault Tec t-shirt. I want one.

Incredible arena. Great build.

I love both the obvious work you’ve put into it, and the reworking of the New Hampshire State motto!

Well done!

Great pictures and looked like a fun game!

A couple of questions...

1. Where do you hold this event? I'm in RI and travel up to NH all the time to see family (Lake Winnie area and Columbia). I'd love to get in on next years event if possible.

2. Are the cars your own designs? And are you using Hot Wheels/Matchbox cars?

Your arena, cars, and counters look awesome! Great work!

Hello!

1. I'm in SE NH, close to the Mass border. The event is in April every year, and I usually start planning around the end of January. If you message me around that timeframe, I'll try and get you in the mix.

2. The cars are my own designs. They would probably make the hard core Car Wars designer cringe, but they are D25 and I am shooting for "internal balance".

This -generally- means they are somewhat lightly armored (no metal), have a higher acceleration (to limit downtime if they come to a stop or reduced speed), and accurate firepower. Compromises are definitely made to keep players on roughly even footing.

I try to get somewhat WYSIWYG within reason. Fake ram plates and blow through concealment should have a purpose!

It has been fine tuned over the years, and I am pretty happy with where things stand now. Hoping to have a pool of around 40 cars for next year.

Most of the cars are Jada brand, so a bit bigger than matchbox/hot wheels.
