Pyr 3/66: Laws of Magic - Raw Magic
Is the price of raw magic store (p. 7) correct? I'm just wondering why it says it is cheaper than Energy Reserve.

Re: Pyr 3/66: Laws of Magic - Raw Magic
Originally, the price was the same as an Energy Reserve (which seemed fair). But the issue here is that gathering Raw Magic is basically a form of Special Recharge, so the cost was reduced by an appropriate amount.

I don't have Thaumatology to check, but I think the way it works out is that you have to find a source of Raw Magic, which will have a set number of points of the stuff (possibly each "source" is automatically 1 Raw Magic, for 25 energy), then use the Work Raw Magic ritual in order to absorb it and recharge your ER. Allowing for Raw Magic that isn't multiples of 25 energy (and thus changing the Advantage to [1]/level, with each level being good for 1 energy) should be possible. |
