Me, neither. I mean, using the word "black" to refer to space has been pretty commonly acceptable amongst sci-fi fandom for, oh, the past 17 years, or so. :)

Even The Expanse refers to space as "the black," every now and then. Whether or not that's an homage to the original show that commonly used that reference is, so far, undisclosed (as far as I know...).

But it wouldn't surprise me.

If you decide to keep it, you'll be in excellent company.
